Candidate for Governor’s Council Goes Indiegogo

Committee to Elect Tom Sheff for Massachusetts Governor’s Council District 3 is launching a crowdfunding campaign

Newton, MA, June 16, 2014 — Tom Sheff, independent, candidate for the Massachusetts Governor’s Council District 3, announced today that he has launched a crowdfunding project on indiegogo.com: http://igg.me/at/tomsheff/x

Crowdfunding is a way for people, small businesses or nonprofits to raise money for a project. Indiegogo.com is an on-line crowdfunding platform. Sheff is using Indiegogo to find people who want to help fund his campaign.

Sheff said:

“My campaign Director of Marketing and Communications, Claude DiDomenica, suggested that crowdfunding would be a great way to support my campaign. It’s easy to set up and there is a huge potential to find donations. I can use crowdfunding and my door-to-door effort, to reach many people across the district. As a fellow out-of-the-box thinker, I like Claude’s idea.”

DiDomenica added:

“I’m confident that Tom’s Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign will be a smashing success. And in the process, people will get to know Tom and know why he is the best candidate for the Governor’s Council.”

Sheff continued:

“We just launched the campaign last week. Now the task is to promote the initiative via social media. Crowdfunding is a great adjunct to traditional fundraising and I have high hopes of a very positive outcome.”

DiDomenica concluded:

“IIt’s been a rewarding experience working with Tom to set up this crowdfunding campaign. I hope other people who need to finance a project will consider crowdfunding as a resource. It really does work.”

About Tom Sheff

Tom Sheff graduated from Clark University with a degree in Government and then attended law school in Michigan. After law school, he was office manager for the family law firm and developed an appreciation for the legal system.

Sheff is a small business owner and co-founder of the newly formed Second Life Computers (SLC). Second Life Computers is a non-profit set up to refurbish and recycle computers.
